View From The Town End - Coventry City

Coventry City

Coventry City v Reading FC

Before each game we’ll try to get the view from a fan of the opposition and Saturday we travel to the Ricoh Arena to take on Coventry City.

'The Scamster' is a poster from Sky Blues Talk and was kind enough to give us his thoughts about Saturday's game.

How would you describe your season so far?

It's been a s**t sandwich. It Started off with a solid yet unspectacular rise to stay in touch with the top six, but playing a rigid 4-4-2 hoofball [bread and butter]. Once teams had sussed out our predictability we went on one of those traditional endless winless streaks that Coventry specialise in [s**t]. Then we sacked Boothroyd.

Andy Thorn changed the tactics to suit the players, and we've hauled ourselves to safety while playing a neat passing game with a diamond midfield [more bread and butter but with some bbq sauce to sweeten the rest of the season].

You sacked Aidy Boothroyd in March, was it the right time for him to go?

Absolutely yes. He'd lost the dressing room and we were heading for relegation.

Who would you like to see get the job? and where do you think you'll finish next season?

(Current caretaker boss) Andy Thorn would be the overwhelming choice for most fans. I'd be happy to see us survive both in the Championship and as a club considering who our current owners are!

You quite controversially signed Marlon King at the start of the season, has he been worth the negative publicity/controversy?

Well you could argue his goals have kept us in the Championship - he's very popular especially with our younger fans, yet there are still plenty who will be glad to see the back of him.

Which Sky Blues players should Reading watch out for?

If he plays then Marlon King is in a rich vein of form. Keiron Westwood is a top goalkeeper and his saves have been worth a goal a game for us.

Who are you most worried about from Reading?

I've always liked Jimmy Kebe, could cause problems for us.

Any tips for Royals fans making the trip?

Watch out for the 2-mile parking exclusion zone around the Ricoh. Parking is 'free' in the Tesco as long as you spend £25 - they've got some good deals on lagers to celebrate your win!

Score predictions.

Reading to win 3-2.

Thanks again to the Scamster and we'll have a full match preview up tomorrow here on The Tilehurst End.
