Alex McCarthy has joined Leeds United on loan for a month in order to solve their goalkeeping crisis (Yorkshire Evening Post) - manager Simon Grayson was grateful to Brian for letting McCarthy out to a divisional rival.

Alex Pearce has said he would accept a call-up from Giovanni Trappatoni, should the Republic of Ireland boss include him in the full squad (Sky Sports).

A few interviews with Brian McDermott over the last few days - the OS has Brian wanting us to convert draws into wins, whilst GetReading reports that McDermott wants to see a revival in the form of striker Mathieu Manset. And BBC Sport focuses on the need for creativity within the squad.
