While Morrison isn't exactly pushing the trio of Gorkss, Pearce and Mariappa it's important to remember just how young he is, at just 21 he's got plenty of time to develop and the few times I've seen him play for Huddersfield he looked impressive. Former Royals defender Ady Williams worked with Morrison at Swindon and has always been very complimentary about the defender.
Sadly Morrison's name has come up for the wrong reasons with a national tabloid reporting that Morrison had been involved in an incident outside a hotel in London. Morrison issued a denial of the way the paper told the events but did admit to being spoken to by the police. An £80 fine for public urination is hardly the worst offence in the book but you'd still hope for a bit more common sense from a young Premier League footballer.
Anyway, Morrison has been back doing what he does best and looked solid in the closing minutes after coming on as a sub at QPR.
It's always good to get young players tied up on long term deals and with Jem Karacan also signed up in recent weeks, Reading will be hoping to wrap up a deal with fellow defender Alex Pearce sooner rather than later.
