The return of Pardew obviously adds extra spice to this one but Reading's fans and players will need no extra motivation considering they sit bottom of the Premier League four games into the season.
While a defeat wouldn't be enough to send the club into meltdown, it certainly doesn't bode well to have 1 point from 5 games with two tough away games at Swansea and Liverpool to follow.
