Newcastle 1-2 Reading - Hands Up If You're Staying Up

When these two sides met in September 2012, Demba Ba's arm was to deny Reading three points at the Madejski Stadium. In January 2013, these things finally evened themselves out as it was Adam Le Fondre's double which sealed the win this time around.

An Adam Le Fondre double gave Reading their first away win of the season, and first ever win at St. James' Park against Alan Pardew's Newcastle.

Adam Federici was the hero of the first half as he denied Papiss Cisse in world class fashion on three separate occasions, but Yohan Cabaye's measured free-kick gave the Magpies a half-time lead.

It stayed that way until the 70th minute, when Le Fondre was brought on for Danny Guthrie, playing against his former club.

And ALF took less than a minute to make an impact, bundling home a Jimmy Kebe cross.

Kebe created the second, nodding down for Hope Akpan to scuff a shot right into the path of Le Fondre to expertly curl home.

Try as Newcastle did, they couldn't find a way past the banks of Reading defenders, and the Royals held on for a momentous victory on Tyneside.
