Blackpool forward Tom Ince has been the highest profile transfer rumour of this window and when Reading confirmed they'd made a bid, it seemed as if the club might finally make the big money purchase some had been crying out for.
Sadly it seems as if Blackpool will hold on to their prized asset this window, with Brian McDermott admitting on the club's OS.
"We tried to get Thomas (Ince), we made a good offer but Blackpool are very strong in wanting to keep him and I don't think he'll be leaving there in this window. I hope he does really well between now and the end of the season.

Still, we can hold on to hope that it's just a bargaining posture and that something might get done. Hopefully Ince watched MOTD last night and it gave him another extra reason to come here.
The Daily Mail are reporting that we're still in pole position if he does move, though the quotes they've taken from Brendan Rodgers sound very similar to Brian McDermott.
'I think it will be difficult now. We could still do the deal but it looks like one that is a bit too complicated at this stage,'
'It's about affordability as well. If Tom stays at Blackpool it doesn't mean he won't join Liverpool at a later stage.'

The Mirror are also saying that Swansea have entered the race for his signature but you'd imagine any deal would be reliant on Danny Graham leaving the Liberty Stadium.
Certainly one to keep an eye on but I wouldn't be heading to the megastore to get Ince printed quite yet.
