Your Reading FC Player of the Month for September 2013

Well as it's the end of October it's probably right to confirm last month's player of the month. If you missed the announcement in Episode 9 of the Tilehurst End Podcast we can announce that Danny Guthrie made it two from two, after he just pipped Alex McCarthy to the award.

Guthrie won the fan vote with 43%, narrowly beating goalkeeper McCarthy with 40%. Big Pav was a distant third, just ahead of Sean Morrison and Wayne Bridge.

By our player ratings Guthrie had the highest average throughout September, his 7.5 rating ahead of McCarthy and Morrison who both had 7.25.

The midfielder's best game had to be the Birmingham game where two free-kicks sealed an important three points but it was his general consistency that helped swing the vote ahead of our young keeper.

With August and September's awards both going to Guthrie and some impressive displays so far in October, could the former Liverpool man make it three in a row?
