While the news that Reading have secured the Bearwood golf club to develop a multi-million pound training ground has been met with universal joy from Royals fans around the county, there is a small pocket of discontent from members of the golf club who saw their own bid blown out of the water by the football club.

While Alex McCarthy has seen his international prospects somewhat limited, the same can't be said for chief scout Steve Head who linked up with his former Fulham boss Roy Hodgson to do some scouting for England ahead of their recent qualifiers.
