Blackburn 0-0 Reading - Instant Reaction

Not much to report from Ewood Park as Reading ground out a 0-0 draw with Blackburn. A point and a clean sheet is never a bad thing away from home but it's now just 1 win in 7 games. Rob will be along with the match report later this weekend but here's the nuts and bolts.

Ben Hoskins

Before the game Reading's injury list saw 1 off it and 1 on as Sean Morrison was ruled out for a few weeks with a knee injury but Danny Williams returned to the bench. Adam Le Fondre was also given a start as Hal Robson-Kanu was ruled out through illness.

Truth be told Reading were blunter than a well used bread knife for most of the first half, with the team failing to register a meaningful effort, while Alex McCarthy had to be alert to deal with a couple of half chances from Rovers.

A double sub at half time that saw Williams and Akpan introduced helped things and Reading might feel hard done by not to have a penalty midway through the half.

Kaspars Gorkss also missed a good chance but really this was about a textbook a 0-0 as you could think of.

As mentioned Rob will be along to post some thoughts in far more detail but for now the positives are a rare away clean sheet and another useful point.
