Keep calm and listen to Bryn – Reading Chronicle
If there’s anyone capable of telling us to calm down and keep positive with our league position amidst this transformation era, it’s Brynjar Gunnarsson – a Reading legend, the one who was promoted with us on both occasions. Bryn insists that "there is plenty of the season left" and given our record, things might work out very nicely again. He implies our club seems to know something about the "formula" for success. Bryn also highlights how it really will take time with Adkins and we need to stick with "different ideas" and players. Having just started his first year in management, Bryn may just know a bit about transformation and what Adkins is attempting to do, so we should listen to him and keep faith!

After a lack-lustre effort from our lads in the first half, not having a single shot and allowing Blackburn much of the play, two subs at half time mixed things up a bit and gave what Adkins dubbed an ‘injection of energy’ in a "game of two halves". He said a point and clean-sheet away from home is a good result, against a Blackburn team who "have been playing well". He also describes Chris Gunter "as honest as the day is long", implying it was ludicrous that our full-back was booked for diving in a challenge that remarkably did not see us awarded a penalty.

Morrison out for weeks – Reading Official Site
The latest player to join our quickly growing injury table is Sean Morrison – our ever-present, towering central defender. He picked up a knee injury in training last week. Adkins says our remaining centre back options are Alex Pearce, Kaspars Gorkss and midfielder Chris Baird who has played at centre-half throughout his career. Adkins, in his usual fashion, was also keen to point out this is the chance for the youth players to stand up and be counted, describing how he took young centre-back Niall Keown to Blackburn on Saturday as back-up.
Despite being on crutches, Sean Morrison does not need an operation on the knee injury that will keep him out until next year.
Dom Hyam - Another youth player to get his chance – Reading Official Site
On Monday, 17 year old vice-captain of the U’18 team, Dom Hyam, signed his first professional contract with Reading. He talks of his delight at signing for the club he’s been at for a long time and says, "this is what all the hard work is for".
