View From The Town End: Wigan

Gameday is upon us as we welcome Wigan to the Madejski Stadium, Ahead of the game we got the views of Latics fan Kieran Heapy from Pie Eaters Footie.

Clint Hughes

How would you sum up Wigan's season so far?

The whole thing has been a complete and utter shambles if I am honest. From the ground up the whole thing just hasn't been good enough. Hopefully things will change now for the better. It wasn't a case for me that we should be doing any better this season, I expected us to massively struggle and I thought mid-table would be round about where we would be. It is the way we have played the game and the clear lack of coherence by the managers and the players.

The Owen Coyle experiment ended after just six months, what went wrong under the former Bolton striker?

Everything basically. No tactics, not training and players basically doing what they want. There was just a complete lack of any sort of structure at the club. We heard this rumors coming out of Bolton about this exact thing. Rather than being on the pitch Owen Coyle plays table tennis.

Any early impressions of your new man Uwe Rosler?

Already like him. Uwe Rosler has just got the lads by the scruff of the neck and told them you get yourselves in gear and sort it out. Credit to the lads they have responded and in the three games he has been in charge we have looked like winning all three. The early signs are very very good.

Any fond memories of facing Reading?

There is that rather big one back in 2005. When in front of a full expecting JJB Stadium we won 3-1 and got promotion to the Premier League.

Any not so fond ones?

Back in 2001 when we lost out to you over the two legs of in the League Two play-offs is always one that sticks out in my head.

Who should Reading fans be wary of on Saturday?

There are two lads who are hitting top form at the moment and that is our two wingers James McClean and Callum McManaman. They have been on fire last few games and are looking dangerous whenever they get on the ball we look like we can score and create goals.

Anyone that Wigan aren't looking forward to facing?

Billy Sharp is a player I have always liked. Very good both on and off the ball and when a chance comes his way he can take it. Our defense will have to be water tight against him I feel.

Score prediction?

Going for a 2-2 draw.
