Reading Player Of The Month: November

A battering at Sheffield Wednesday aside, November was a decent month for Reading - draws with promotion rivals QPR a point at Blackburn along with a great win up at the City Ground against Nottingham Forest. But who impressed you most?

Laurence Griffiths

In alphabetical order...

Alex McCarthy

Average Rating: 7.25 (4 apps); MOTM: 1st (Blackburn A), 2nd (QPR H)

What would we do without McCarthy? I'm sure Adam Federici would keep goal well, but there's no doubting how many points our Academy product has salvaged for us this season. Man of the match up at Blackburn with two awesome saves preserving the clean sheet, whilst he also came 2nd in the QPR match where only a Joey Barton free-kick beat him.

Garath McCleary

Average Rating: 6.5 (4 apps); MOTM: 1st (Forest A)

Nine out of ten for McCleary up at Forest, as he grabbed two assists in a vital win to keep our promotion push alive. His thunderbolt against QPR earned him a 7 in that match, but two 5/10s bring his mark back down - the nature of his position mean you can't expect him to sparkle every game.

Jordan Obita

Average Rating: 6.25 (4 apps); MOTM: 2nd (Sheffield Wednesday A)

Another solid month for young Obita, who got 2nd in our Sheffield Wednesday poll, admittedly behind the runaway winner Pogrebnyak. Grabbed his first goal in a Reading shirt when firing home the winner at Forest, whilst he's looked sharp and exciting in every performance so far.

Pavel Pogrebnyak

Average Rating: 7.25 (4 apps); MOTM: 1st (QPR H, Sheffield Wednesday A), 3rd (Blackburn A)

A man reborn. Pogrebnyak grabbed MOTM honours twice in November, in our away days at Hillsborough and Ewood Park. Notched the joint-highest average in the month, along with Alex McCarthy, whilst he was in the top three of our MOTM polls 3 out of 4 times. He got the award last month - can he make it 2 in a row?

So there are the nominees, but who do you think deserves to be named Reading's Player of the Month for November? Vote in the poll below - you've got until Friday 13th...
