Coming into his own under Adkins, this was Karacan's best game for a long while.
Coming into his own under Adkins, this was Karacan's best game for a long while.
Harry Engels

Alex McCarthy: 7

Competent in everything asked of him.

Chris Gunter: 7

Supported well down the flanks, solid defensively.

Wayne Bridge: 5

As Gunter, but was at fault for the goal.

Sean Morrison: 6

Slip led to Barkhuizen getting a clear sight of goal, otherwise error generally solid.

Alex Pearce: 6

Ok to a point, dominant but was caught for pace in behind a couple of times. Clearances hurried and panicked.

Jem Karacan: 7

Unlucky to be on the losing side. Coming into his own under Adkins, his best game for a long while.

Danny Guthrie: 6

Distribution ok, spread play well but caught on the ball resulting in a cynical foul and yellow. Lucky not to be sent off for handball thereafter.

Hal Robson-Kanu: 4

Impotent, failed to beat his man and get a cross in once, generally ineffective.

Garath McCleary: 5

Failed to get the measure of his full back, struggled against the double-up.

Royston Drenthe: 6

In the middle, crowded out, looked disinterested. Out wide, wonderful for 10 minutes before turning ineffective after the goal.

Nick Blackman: 3

Out of his depth, is not quick enough to read situations, struggles to retain possession.

Adam Le Fondre: 6

One good chance, lots of movement but was always going to struggle under the circumstances.

Danny Williams: 5

Failed to impress himself on the game in the short space of time on the pitch.

Pavel Pogrebnyak: 5

Missed a good chance at the end, generally ineffective in the cameo appearance otherwise.
