McCleary Signs New Deal

With an uncertain future hanging over the heads of several key Reading players, the club have today announced that winger Garath McCleary has put pen to paper on a new deal that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2017, with the option of another year. The Jamaican star has been ruled out since the beginning of the summer with an injury and is expected to return to the side within the next month or two. It was even revealed that he had played the closing stages of last season with a broken back.

This does of course leave several more major Reading players still out of contract in the summer of 2015. Nigel Adkins will be hoping to keep the likes of Danny Guthrie, Alex Pearce, Jem Karacan and Hal Robson-Kanu - all of whom are out of contract at the end of this season.
