Ref-Watch: Brentford (A)

The #RefWatch Famine has come to pass: we're back, in the nick of time to preview Wiltshire-based sawmill sales director ROGER EAST. Now that's what I call a mouthful.

'And eyes and ears and mouth and nose, heads, shoulders knees and toes'

Roger East, refereeing in West London, ref-watched by a South Klein. My head hurts.

---

After six years on the Football League refereeing roster, Roger was promoted to the list of Select Group officials in 2013, meaning that he now plies his trade in the Premier League as well.

Knocking on 50 years of age, he's something of a veteran with the old cards and whistle (and, er, spray).

In 2006, at the request of the FA, East jetted off to the East - seizing the reins of the Libyan Tripoli derby between Al-Ittihad and Al-Ahly. How exotic.

(Imagine being a fly on the wall for THAT conversation: ''Roger?'', ''Yes Sir?'', ''We're sending you to Libya.'', ''Oh right''.)

Closer to home, Rod was entrusted with keeping the peace in the 2012 League One Play-Off Final, between Sheffield United and Huddersfield Town.

In his career, he has taken charge of 11 Brentford games - and worryingly, the Bees have lost only three times under his watch.

Permission to gulp.
