My initial thought is Steve Clarke feels more of an natural fit. Managers with a downbeat manner seem to work better for us. #ReadingFC

To be honest, I would be quite happy Steve Clarke. Excellent coach and you would hope he could sort the main problem - our defence.

Reading are holding talks with Steve Clarke after parting company with Nigel Adkins on Monday. The Royals could do a hell of a lot worse.

— Sam Vernon (@Sam_Vernon1) December 16, 2014
Happy enough with Steve Clarke for #readingfc. Would have preferred Hughton or Dolan but could be worse - Di Canio is available...

Steve Clarke would be a very decent coup for Reading
— Dean Manley (@DeanManley_) December 16, 2014
Reading appointing Steve Clarke is the least imaginative appointment ever. They should have nipped to Legoland and built a manager.
— Neil Halton (@NeilHalton) December 16, 2014
Would be happy with Steve Clarke, let's just see how he deals with players and helps progress the youth players into the first team.
— Guy Tanner (@MILLSYBOY3) December 16, 2014
Thought yesterday that Reading would be a good fit for Steve Clarke. And that's exactly what's happening.
— Matt Rose (@mattjsrose) December 16, 2014

Steve Clarke. Not convinced, rather have seen Dolan given a chance or someone with a bit more attitude like Sherwood #readingfc
— Ross (@RB92_RFC) December 16, 2014
not the biggest Clarke fan but will support him nevertheless #ReadingFC
— Luke Gibbs (@gibbsey517) December 16, 2014

— Marcus Cookie (@MarcusCook10) December 16, 2014
Fair play to Steve Clarke, I wish him the best of luck at #Reading. Stupid of #WBA to sack him still, and I know I was unhappy when we did.
— Cameron Taylor (@camWBAFC) December 16, 2014
Very happy with Steve Clarke as our new manager!! #ReadingFC
— Bethany Collieu (@BethanyClairex) December 16, 2014
I'm happy with Steve Clarke, did wonders in his first season in the Premiership with West Brom, we'll need a new manager chant.. #ReadingFC
— Dan Holloway (@RFCdan) December 16, 2014

There are plenty more where that came from, but the majority of people are impressed with the choice of Steve Clarke as manager. His track record and interview style are doing him lots of favours—as well as West Brom staying more or less where they were when he was sacked.
However, the real reaction will come from the crowds on Saturday.
So, what do you think? Good choice or not? Let us know in the poll and comments.
