Reading have been drawn against Huddersfield Town in the third round of the FA Cup, and will face the Terriers at the John Smith's Stadium. The match is expected to take place on the weekend of the 3rd/4th January 2015.

The last meeting between the two sides was at the Madejski Stadium in August, when Reading lost 2-1.

The Royals have had a few impressive cup runs lately, getting to advanced stages of the competition under previous manager Brian McDermott. In his first two seasons at the club, McDermott guided Reading to a place in the quarter final before losing 4-2 to Aston Villa, before being knocked out at the same stage the following year 1-0 by Manchester City. Since then, despite getting to the fifth round two years ago, Reading have done less well in the cup, going out at the third round to the likes of Stevenage and Brighton.
