Wales call up for Royals duo

Reading duo are called up to their international squad for the friendly against Iceland next month.

The Football Associations of Wales has announced the latest squad for the upcoming friendly game against Iceland, and two Royals feature in the list.

Right back Chris Gunter, who joined Reading from Nottingham Forest two years ago, has been called up and looks likely to earn his 52nd cap for his country.

Hal Robson-Kanu has also been called up, despite rarely featuring for the Royals this season and when doing so in an unfamiliar striker position, and could be in line to make his 20th appearance for them.

An outside bet before the announcement, Jake Taylor might have thought he could get into the back-up squad having featured regularly on the Royals' bench and making a few appearances for the promotion-chasing hoops — unfortunately, he's not named at all.
