4-1 win for U21s as U18s gear up for Quarter-final

A big week for the Reading youngsters got off to a good start as Bolton were beaten 4-1 in Basingstoke ahead of the U18s Liverpool tie.

Monday night at the Camrose, Basingstoke, saw the Reading Under 21 side beat Bolton's U21s convincingly. The 4-1 scoreline was contributed to with goals from De'Jaune Taylor-Crosslade, Jake Cooper, and Sheppard Murombezdi's brace. Bolton had drawn level at the break, but the Royals overcame the travelling side for 3 points.

The Under 21s sit 13th in the National Table stage of the Premier League, 16 games into the 21-match season, they are 8 points off the top 4- which will eventually split into a mini-tournament to decide the champions.

Many players were unavailable for the Bolton game due to injury, and the forthcoming FA Youth Cup tie.
This Wednesday is the quarter final at home to Liverpool, with tickets at £3/£1 for the 7pm Mad Stad kick-off. However, the game is also live on LFC TV from 18:30, which is free to watch on Sky channel 429, Virgin 544 and online here.

The academy are looking to reach the semi-final for the first time ever.
