The moment is finally here, Reading FC have, in a statement released today, finally given official confirmation of a deal with a 'consortium who have agreed a partnership with Sir John to take Reading Football Club forward'.
For a full edition of the statement, you can read the original article here.
However, the details released by the club are slightly different to the ones expected in recent weeks. Samrit Bunditkitsada's name is significant with its absence, and is replaced in the statement by Khunying Sasima Srivikorn, whose identity was revealed by the Reading Post several days ago. She is a 76 year-old businesswoman, also from Thailand, who in the statement says she is "absolutely delighted to be entering into this partnership with Sir John, and working with a club with such a strong reputation".
This development, despite being a major milestone in the takeover saga, still falls short of a completely final announcement. Loyal Royals still await key information such as the makeup of the new consortium and what role will be left to Sir John Madejski.
