Ref-Watch: Huddersfield (H)

QUICK! A frenzied, speedy mid-week #RefWatch special, just in time for tonight's kick-off. Blame the congestion on the M6 southbound. May I present to you *drumroll*, STUART ''Ghost Ref'' ATTWELL.

''These are not the goals you're looking for''. Carlos Tevez, the latest victim of Attwell's Jedi mind-tricks.

Who ya gonna call? Not this chap: Attwell was the referee present when the Royals ''netted'' their notorious ''ghost goal'' at Vicarage Road in 2008. The Hornets were certainly stung by THAT particular decision.

However, karma came back to bite us in the backside last season - Stuart was also the man who dismissed Chris Gunter in the final ten minutes of our game up at Nottingham Forest, in November.

Not really a popular bloke, then.

Last week, Attwell disallowed a magical Albert Adomah bicycle-kick goal in the first half of Middlesborough vs Leeds, interpreting a "high boot" as dangerous play. I was up in arms, let me tell you. It was artwork.

The Warwickshire Wonder was stripped of his Premier League refereeing credentials in February 2012, after a string of glaring high-profile incidents. Before his demotion, he held the accolade of once being the youngest referee ever to officiate in the Premier League, at 25 years old.

Let's be nice to him tonight, shall we? Barring a totally, totally bonkers decision.
