Leicester midfielder Dean Hammond has been one of the names frequently linked with a move to the Madejski Stadium with boss Nigel Adkins an open admirer of his former Southampton player.
However injuries at the King Power Stadium have given Hammond his chance to impress Nigel Pearson and a string of solid performances for the Premier League side could well have de-railed his chances of a move to the Madejski according to Get Reading reporter and Tilehurst End Extra co-host Charles Watts.
However, Sky Sports News are reporting that Pearson is interested in signing midfielder Nick Powell from Manchester United on a loan deal, a move which if it happens could well free up Hammond for a move down South.
