This comes as a major development to a relatively quiet Transfer Deadline Day for the Royals as far as incomings go, although a bid has reportedly been rejected for QPR defender Yun Suk-Young, and Royston Drenthe has left on a half-season loan to join Sheffield Wednesday.
Reports earlier in the day had suggested that contract length negotiations were holding up any deal for Murray, although those negotiations now seem to be drawing to a close.
Stay tuned at the Tilehurst End for any further developments.
