View From The Town End: Sheffield Wednesday

It's not been the best few weeks but Saturday gives us a great chance to get back to winning ways with a trip to winless Sheffield Wednesday..... is what I wrote this time last season and we all know how that turned out! One thing that hasn't changed is Joe Crann being kind enough to give us the Wednesday perspective ahead of tomorrow's game.

What have you made of Wednesday's season so far?

I certainly can't complain!! Some of our new signings have really showed up for us and the team is working tremendously as a unit. Long may in continue!

When we spoke to you in the pre-season you were cautiously optimistic you might be able to mount a play-off challenge, has that feeling been boosted or weakened by what you've witnessed to date?

It's definitely been boosted... I was being optimistic relatively blindly, now the team have given me reason to be so.

What have fans made of Reading loanee Royston Drenthe so far?

We haven't seen too much of him to be honest, but he's definitely an extremely talented footballer and a bit of a unit. I'm looking forward to seeing him play more and more.

Any fond memories of games between the two sides?

Erm, I think I was pretty found of the 5-2 win last season! It was a bit unexpected so that made it better.

Any not so fond ones?

The 5-0 the year before that! Haha. You absolutely smashed us!

Who should Reading fans be wary of on Saturday?

New signing, Stevie May, seems to be coming into his own a little bit now, which is great. Also Tom Lees has looked really solid defensively.

Anyone that Owls fans aren't looking forward to coming up against?

Simon Cox's four goals in five games in nothing to be scoffed at. We'll have to keep a close eye on him.

Score prediction?

I'll go 2-1 Wednesday. We need to get our home record back up to scratch.

Finally any tips for Reading fans heading to Hillsborough?

If they're staying over then get the tram to the stadium, it's much easier than trying to drive in. Also, get a pie, the ones at Hillsborough are great ;)
