Bookie Watch: Reading FC v Millwall

The Royals take a trip to South London this week for a huge six pointer which Reading will be looking to grab the three points from and take back home to Berkshire, and Readingfanman takes a look at the way the bookies see it.

After a successful trip to the Welsh lands this past weekend, as we move into the 5th round of the FA Cup (151.00 to win it all, and 6.50 to be the furthest progressing Football League team), we have a huge game on Tuesday 27th away in South London at The Den vs freefalling Millwall.

Whilst Reading at 151.0 to win the FA cup is probably throwing money away, Reading at 7.0 to be the furthest Football League team in the FA cup isn't bad value having seen the draw. With Blackburn hosting Stoke, and Boro travelling to Arsenal, the only other team I feel that is worth a bet in this market has to be Fulham at 13.00, who if they can beat Sunderland in the replay, they have a winnable tie away to Bradford City (8.00).

Millwall have gone off the boil after a strong start with 11 points from their first 5 games. They now sit 22nd having only picked up another 12 points in the following 21 games. Reading travel to Millwall in good form, having won their 3 of the last 5 games, with their only defeat coming in the last minute vs Fulham. This leads to reason that 2.4 shows good value for an improving Reading side against a Millwall side who are languishing in the relegation zone and are priced at 3.25.

The main issue Millwall have had is defending, they have conceded 2 or more in 50% of their league games this season. This combined with not scoring in over a third of their league games so far has left them in real trouble. Reading should be able to exploit this, as Millwall have lost 5 out of their last 6 in all competitions, conceding 19 goals in that time. Reading -1 at 4.8 is a strong bet I think for midweek.

The correct score market may be a tough one to crack for the game against Millwall with their unpredictable defence, it is tough to judge how many Reading may or may not score. However, for those interested, 1-0 Reading is 8.5, and Reading 2-0 is 13.0. A scoreline I like the look of is Reading to win 3-1, this Reading side is growing in confidence, however are still vulnerable at the back, especially to set pieces, a high price of 22.0 may warrant a small play.

Recommended Bets

1) Reading To Win -1 @ 4.8 - Reading are on a nice run of form currently, playing against a struggling Millwall side, who leak goals from all over the field. If Reading score first, it is tough to see them not manage to get at least one more following that.

No other recommended bets from us this week at Bookie Watch, confident in the Royals to pull this one out!
