Millwall 0-0 Reading FC: Player Ratings

You've read @hughvmarxist's Match Report, now read his player ratings for the game too. Don't forget to vote for your Man of the Match in the poll at the bottom.

Adam Federici: 7

Commanded his box well, corners were dealt with easily, made 2 good saves when tested, once from a Fabbrini free kick and once from a back post header to tip for a corner stopping what should have been a certain goal early in the second half. Though maybe if he had let it in there would've been some more life in Reading's attack.

Stephen Kelly: 6

Solid and dependable defensively Fabbrini rarely got around him, didn't go forward at all in the first half due to our odd formation, but was keen to offer McCleary support when he came on in the second half.

Alex Pearce: 6

We're starting to see the Pearce of old again, he seemed comfortable on the ball too, would've been a 7 but he lost his man for the back post header in the second half that could've cost us the points.

Michael Hector: 6

I'm being a bit generous, he did little wrong and made some good tackles however some of his passes still give me and other fans heart attacks watching him including one ball across the back that flew up and could've landed anywhere, needs to learn from Chalobah when to play a short pass and when to play the Hollywood ball.

Jordan Obita: 6

Poor Obita, not given any help on the left wing due to outright refusal from Blackman or HRK to play out wide, however his crosses were poor, had a good chance with a free kick hit just over but really should've let Norwood take it.

Nathaniel Chalobah: 7

It was hard to tell what he did and at half time I realised that's why he's had such a good game and why players like Busquets for Barcelona are priceless, he shielded the defence perfectly making interceptions and then laying a short pass on, clearly an intelligent player, and allows norwood and Williams to be more expressive in attack, unlucky to be subbed but the substitution made sense as Clarke went for the win.

Danny Williams: 6

Still not back to his best but made a few good runs through the middle slowly getting there.

Oliver Norwood: 7

My personal MOTM managed to find a pass no matter how much pressure he seemed under, him and McCleary seem to be linking well as well.

Hal Robson Kanu: 4

I don't understand his position, he doesn't understand his position, gave obita no support and missed a great opportunity in the first half, and should've connected with McCleary's low cross at the start of the second half.

Nick Blackman: 5

Gets a higher score than HRK just because of some tricks and skills and actually using the wings at some points, but also his score is low because it drives me insane how unwilling he is to get stuck in, at one point in the first half he seemed to be onto a ball just to slow down as the Millwall defender closed in on the ball.

Pavel Pogrebnyak: 6

Some decent link up play but the big Russian needs to find the net soon and he needs to stay on his feet more often, dived in the box twice when he could've had good chances in the first half.

Subs:

McCleary (on for Blackman): 6

Tricky as ever beat his man a few times and actually played on the wing unlike HRK and Blackman but his delivery was poor at times.

Cox (on for Chalobah): 6

Came on so we could attack and use the extra man as an advantage, didn't have many chances apart from one he created for himself where he hit a low driven shot from 25 yards forced a good save from Forde.

Mackie (on for HRK): N/A

One good chance but caught offside, not on long enough to make a real impact.
