Nick Blackman's goal was enough to give Reading a narrow win over Huddersfield in the FA Cup third round. After a first half low on quality and entertainment, James Vaughan missed Huddersfield's best chance, heading over at the back post from Jack Robinson's cross from the left byeline. Blackman went onto finish low into the corner after Hal Robson-Kanu's pass with what was amazingly the game's only shot on target. Jonathan Hogg picked up a second yellow card late on as the Royals progressed.
