The right-back is out of contract in the summer, and has faced high competition for places this season. The more experienced options of Chris Gunter and Stephen Kelly have both made more appearances for The Royals than Cummings- who has just returned from injury.
As GetReading report, a permanent deal to take 25-year-old Cummings to The Den in January is in the works with the clubs currently discussing a transfer fee.
Current Lions' backroom staff member, and ex-Royals assistant, Nigel Gibbs is a man who will know all about the right-back that signed for Reading in 2009 from Chelsea- and has gone on to make 71 appearances and score one goal (below).
It is also believed that Millwall are on the verge of signing former Reading striker Simon Church on a loan deal.
