Big news coming out Reading today, and it's not good. Get Reading's Charles Watts reports that midfielder Aaron Tshibola has been ruled out until next year with an ankle injury. The youngster had looked impressive this season, having forced his way into Steve Clarke's first team plans.
That leaves Reading looking light in centre midfield, with Alex Fernandez the only other recognised central midfielder available as backup to regulars Oliver Norwood and Danny Williams. Steve Clarke had said before that he could be tempted to dip into the loan market should injuries force his hand, and that could indeed become the case now.
That said, looking further down the squad list, the likes of Liam Kelly and Conor Shaughnessy are options, but neither have played for the first team as of yet. Meanwhile, Aaron Kuhl and Jake Taylor are both on loan at Dundee United and Motherwell respectively.
