View From The Town End: Leeds United

Why do we always seem to play Leeds in midweek? With that unanswerable question out there it's time to get some actual answers ahead of tonight's game and to do that we spoke to Leeds blogger Thomas Hill who writes for Through It All Together.

How would you sum up Leeds season so far?

Leeds' season could be best summed up by the word meh. We've blooded some youngsters into the first team and they have done very well. Neil Redfearn hasn't totally convinced everyone yet but I think we are playing some better football and have the potential to climb the table.

We've had four managers (feels like 8) and Massimo Cellino is now banned for a few weeks. There's plenty of drama but we need a break and just get back to the football.

To say Leeds have had an interesting few seasons off the pitch would be underselling things. After years of chaos is there any end in sight?

There is no end in sight no. Thanks for reminding me. Cellino still has a court case or two to settle according to reports in Italy. Our squad is yet to fully reach its potential and we can still get dragged into the relegation battle.

Noel Hunt won plenty of friends at Reading and has enjoyed a good spell at Ipswich. What went so badly wrong for him at Elland Road?

Noel Hunt's problem was that he couldn't score. Quite an issue if you play up front. He just messed everything up. Don't get me wrong he did try but it was just not going to work. I wish him all the best he didn't have a bad word to say when he left and he probably has a story or two to tell.

End of the day we need our strikers to finish and he failed week in week out.

The two sides ground out a dull draw earlier in the campaign, what did you make of Reading that day and from what you've seen and heard since?

You were pretty well organised that night and by the scoreline suggests we were in a similar position. Since then I think you've become a more respected team, Clarke's sides seem to wor hard and appear to be very hard to break down. You've got some players coming back and could maybe make the play-offs.

Who should Reading fans be wary of come Tuesday?

Marco Silvestri is a fine keeper on his day. His shot stopping skills are first class at times but he can be dodgy under a high ball. Sam Byram has improved since been moved to RW in recent weeks, while Lewis Cook, Alex Mowatt, Luke Murphy and Rodolph Austin have been in fine form in midfield.

Edgar Cani has just signed we've not seen much of him but he did show some good touches on Saturday when he came off the bench. Finally Sol Bamba has looked strong since he signed from Palermo.

Any player that Leeds fans aren't looking forward to facing?

I've always rated Simon Cox and of course Gareth McCleary after his performance for Forest a few seasons ago. Adam Federici is a good keeper at his level but your squad in general seems hardworking.

Score prediction?

I'll say 1-1 this time around. Leeds' goal coming from Bamba from a set piece.
