Reading brought in Nick Blackman and Oliver Norwood from the 2-1 win at Wolves, dropping Hal Robson-Kanu and Simon Cox to the bench, while Leeds made three changes to a 0-1 loss against Brentford.

The game began quietly, with a potential spot-kick for Nick Blackman hitting the floor in the away penalty area dismissed, and a potential injury to Danny Williams slowing the game down. In the end it was the Leeds man Bianchi who was worse for wear and was subbed off.

The men from Yorkshire troubled first, with a 33rd minute effort from Morison cannoning off the post after a mistake from Norwood allowed Leeds to counter. A couple of Williams efforts were all the Royals could muster and the game went into half-time goal-less.

The hosts threatened early on in the second period, with Michael Hector having a header well-saved before disaster for Reading. Luke Murphy tried his luck from 25-yards, and your TTE player of the month Adam Federici couldn't stop the effort, which went under his body and sent the 2,500 visiting fans into raptures.

In rebuttle, Reading brought on Jamie Mackie, Yakubu for a debut, and Simon Cox. The most that they could muster was a one-on-one that saw Silvestri deny Williams and a Yak shot go wide.

Yet, it was all in vain as Sam Byram rapped things up for Neil Redfearn's outfit, heading in at the far-post and condemning Steve Clarke to just a second home defeat as Royals coach. Reading drop to 14th in the table, Leeds rise to 17th.
