The defender, who turns out for the Dragões youth team Porto B, was watched by the Royals' scouts as he appeared in the Premier League International Cup.
According to reports in Portugal- via GetReading- Bruno played in the match between Porto B and Borussia Monchengladbach's youth squad at Aldershot on Wednesday and could well be watched on March 4th as Porto return to play Norwich City in their final group match. However, the Berkshire club could face competition from fellow Championship side Bournemouth.
The 23-year-old's contract in Portugal runs out in 2016, and with Reading defenders Chris Gunter and Stephen Kelly both nearing the end of their Madejski Stadium deals, there could be a gap to fill in Steve Clarke's squad come the summer.
Defender Bruno has been capped at U18, U19 and U21 international youth levels for his native Portugal, and has appeared 20 times in Portugal's second division, Liga Vitalis, in 2014/15.
