Midfielder Williams hasn't featured for the national side since injuring his knee during a friendly against Ukraine in March 2014, an injury that kept him out of Reading's play-off push and also Jurgen Klinsmann's national team plans for last summer's World Cup. Now he'll link up again with the national squad and hope to add to his tally of 13 caps as they face Denmark and Switzerland in Aarhus and Zurich respectively.
Elsewhere and there's a Jamaica recall for Royals winger Garath McCleary who joins up the with Reggae Boyz for games with Venezuela and Cuba. Like Williams, McCleary hasn't featured for the national side since last March and will join up with former Royals Adrian Mariappa and Jobi McAnuff.
Closer to home and Chris Gunter and Hal Robson-Kanu will both be part of the Wales squad to face Israel on Saturday, though there's no place for Jake Taylor.
Reading Captain Alex Pearce keeps his place in the Republic of Ireland squad to play Poland at the Aviva Stadium on Sunday but Stephen Kelly and Simon Cox both failed to make the final squad.
Oliver Norwood will hope he can help Northern Ireland continue with their impressive start to their European Qualifier against Finland as well as a friendly with Scotland.
Hope Akpan returns to the Nigeria squad hoping for better fortunes after a shoulder injury his last time away with the national squad.
Adam Federici has earned himself an Australia call-up for friendlies with Germany and Macedonia, with Ryan Edwards named in the U23 squad.
