As reported by Get Reading & Tilehurst End Podcast Extra co-host Charles Watts earlier today, Reading will indeed offer new contracts to goalkeeper Adam Federici, defender Alex Pearce and club captain Jem Karacan.
Feds, Pearce and Karacan will all be offered new deals, says Steve Clarke. #readingfc

So good news right? Well not necessarily....
Pretty clear that although deals will be offered to Feds, Jem, Pearce. They will very much be on #readingfc's terms.

Clarke on players out of contract: "They hold all the cards." #readingfc

So it looks like those players will at least have a chance to stay at the Madejski, although what terms they've been offered is very much up in the air. All three are good players and have shown their ability at this level but all three will probably have to take wage cuts to stay, having signed previous deals under the free spending Anton Zingarevich. With the trio all in the prime of their careers, you could understand their desire to maximise their earning potential elsewhere, while after the horrors of the past three seasons, a change of scenery might be appealing simply for footballing reasons.
So who else might come in? After our recent goalscoring problems it's no surprise to see Clarke targeting players who can operate in the final third.
Clarke: If I could only sign two players in the summer, they would both be forwards. #readingfc

So what do you think Tilehurst Enders? Happy with that news or do you think we should move on?
