It was never going to remain positive, was it?
After six signings since the Thai consortium gave Steve Clarke and co the green light to make their moves in the market, fans of The Royals will be feeling pretty pleased right now—or they will be until they hear that our star player is attracting the interest of Premier League sides.
Garath McCleary is supposedly attracting the interest of Bournemouth, Newcastle, West Bromwich Albion and Watford after his performances in the Gold Cup in Canada helped the Reggae Boyz reach the quarter finals of the tournament, despite not getting back to his best in the 2014/15 Championship season after a back injury ruled him out for much of the first half of games.
With it emerging recently that Nottingham Forest rejected a £5million offer for their ex-Reading winger Michail Antonio, the question remains as to how much cash the interested parties are willing to throw at Nigel Howe and for how much the club are willing to sell. You'd think a £5million offer for McCleary would be taken, but isn't he a better player than Antonio? I guess it's a subjective thing.
McCleary signed a new contract in 2014, which ties him to the club until 2017.
What do you make of the rumour? Would you sell McCleary for £5million? Let us know below.
