Akaïchi has scored 28 goals and made 18 assists for his club since joining them in 2013 from then 2. Bundesliga side Ingolstadt. He has been capped 12 times by the Tunisia national side, scoring five goals.
Adding fuel to the transfer fire was a report from the media in Africa that the forward had been in talks with Club Africain and CS Sfaxien of Tunisia, seeking a move away from the club but is he heading to Berkshire?
Well... probably not.
Sources confirmed to us that the striker was simply visiting the club but has now left. Those reports have since been backed up by TTE Podcast co-host and Get Reading's own Charles Watts.
Don't get to excited by this Ahmed Akaichi. Word I have is that he visited, but it's not progressing. #readingfc

While Reading could always go back to the deal, for whatever reason it seems they're not pursuing the move right now.
We'll bring you more if we get it here on The Tilehurst End but to quote a gameshow from yesteryear, here's a video of what we could have won.
