It's just news after news after news emanating from Reading Football Club at the moment, with signings, kits and rumours flying around left, right and centre.

The latest news to come to us is the news that Waitrose have agreed a deal that see them through their eighth year as sponsor of the club; as part of the deal which expires at the end of the 2015/16 season, they'll also appear on the back of our new kits.

As is typical, the top dogs of both parties have come out with lovely quotes.

Adam Benson, Head of Commercial Sales at Reading FC said,

“We would like to place on record our sincere thanks for all the support Waitrose have given the club over the last seven seasons as our shirt sponsor.

“It has been a great privilege working alongside them and everyone at Reading is looking forward to them remaining a club partner for many years to come.”

And Director of Marketing at Waitrose, Rupert Thomas, said,

"We are proud to support such a community driven football club and are already looking forward to the new season. The new deal continues our seven-year association and will give our brand further exposure at both a local and national level."

Waitrose are the third company to sponsor Reading this summer, after previous announcements of Carabao and Thai Airways' agreements.

It remains to be seen what the back of our new kits will look like with Waitrose plastered over the back of them, with many fans not happy with Carabao's logo featuring on the front of the shirt.
