The England U19 international had flown out to the Balaeric Islands to scope out a potential season-long spell with the Segunda Division outfit managed by former Chelsea defender Albert Ferrer. However, after some time abroad Kuhl has now returned to more familiar surroundings and Royals boss Steve Clarke has admitted that the deal is pretty much dead in the water.
Talking to GetReading, the Scot revealed that Kuhl is training with Reading again, saying: "I don't think it's going to go any further."
The 19-year-old, who spoke to TTE about his time in the academy and with England in the summer, is not the first player with Royal connections to see a potential move to Mallorca quashed. That's because Jimmy Kebe's recent trial at the Iberostar Stadium did not result in the winger being offered a contract.
Nice to be back in England
