Reading FC 0-0 Milton Keynes Dons: Player Ratings

Another goalless match at the Mad Stad, though Reading probably deserved to win the game in reality. Here's how we rated the players on the day - and vote for your Man Of The Match too.

Jonathan Bond: 5

Nothing much to do in truth, but his kicking is still a major worry. Granted, Ferdinand's pass back was a tad strong for the biggest error, but it's not the first time he's failed to convince with his distribution.

Chris Gunter: 7

Fast becoming an important outlet with the lack of width in the midfield, Gunter's runs down the right created space and, though his crossing wasn't always the best, he created a few good chances.

Paul McShane: 6

A solid performance from the former Hull man, and just what we've come to expect. A couple of nervy moments with misjudgements in the air, but otherwise played well.

Anton Ferdinand: 6

Created a moment of panic when his kick to Bond was cleared along the floor straight to a Dons man, but otherwise calm and composed.

Jordan Obita: 6

Struggled against Hall early on, and was beaten by the winger a couple of times in the first 15 minutes. But then he was solid, and got forward to support a few attacks.

Danny Williams: 6

Typical hustle and bustle from the American, and a couple of trademark barnstorming runs. But the lack of end product is his downfall.

Aaron Tshibola: 6

A good game from the 20-year-old, who kept things simple in midfield and was perhaps harshly booked for a sliding challenge. Had a chance to find the net but couldn't find enough power.

Oliver Norwood: 7

Perhaps the stand-out in midfield, not only because of his range of passing but also his link-up play, efforts on goal and tracking back. Should have done better with a one-on-one but otherwise did well.

Stephen Quinn: 6

Hasn't quite delivered in his matches so far but today was encouraging, showing a good understanding with Sa and Obita, and curling just over from 20 yards in the first half.

Orlando Sa: 7

Another impressive performance from the striker, whose link-up play is outstanding and whose willing to run the channels and find space has endeared him to the Reading fans already. Sadly, he can't seem to find the net though.

Hal Robson-Kanu: 6

Jeered when he came off the pitch - whilst he certainly wasn't terrible, he did spurn a few good opportunities. Some good crosses and performed okay up front, but it'll take a lot for him to win over the fans again.

Substitutes

Nick Blackman: 6

Injected pace into a final twenty minutes which was crawling towards a finish, and tested Martin with a 20-yarder.

Simon Cox: 5

Nothing of note.

Alex Fernandez: n/a
