It took a while but Reading eventually overcame Portsmouth in the second round, goals from Nick Blackman and Garath McCleary safely guiding the Royals through to the last 32. The big boys come into play now, as the eight English teams involved in European competition enter the draw, and the reward for a victory at Fratton Park is... a home match against either Barnsley or Everton - the only match yet to take place in the second round.

The match will be played in the week commencing the 21st of September - in between two away trips, to Bristol City on the 19th and Burnley on the 26th.

Happy with the draw, Royals fans? Would you have preferred another away trip or are you pleased to finally save a bit of petrol money?
