Welcome! This is the first in our series of away days videos, which we hope to bring regularly to The Tilehurst End going forward. The videos capture our own away day experiences at the games and also hopefully give a glimpse into the perspective of the rest of our away followings.
The video series is very much still a work in progress so please do let us know in the comments section what you do and don't like about it so we can try and work on it for future episodes. You can either email the website at thetilehurstend@gmail.com or get us directly on Twitter @gamingeliteplat
As for a few general thoughts on the game, I thought the performance here at Brentford was probably the best that I've seen Reading play for a very long time. The team spirit seemed very high and everyone looked as if they were playing with confidence. One performance that stood out, was that of our leading goalscorer Nick Blackman, who scored a both a wonderful 25 yard free-kick as well as finishing off the game with the last kick of the game from the penalty spot.
Another player who played well was Orlando Sa. As well as a first goal for the club, the striker had some decent hold up play while managing to create some chances for others. My only critique is that maybe he needs to be a bit more clinical in front of goal.
The one negative from the game was once again the goalkeeping. At the moment I just don't feel comfortable with Jonathon Bond in goal but maybe he's still rusty from sitting on the bench for two years at Watford.
To end on a positive note though, Anton Ferdinand was top quality once again and looks nailed on to keep his place in the team.
