It's safe to say Reading Football Club are having an outstanding summer.

Highly-rated attacking midfielder Lucas Piazon tweeted that the deal to join Steve Clarke's Royals is all done before swiftly deleting the tweet, however the deal was soon confirmed by the club.

Piazon joined Chelsea from São Paulo in 2011 and was widely touted as being the'next Kaka'—a comparison the youngster rejected.

Since joining the Blues, the Brazilian attacker has spent time on loan at Malaga, Vitesse and Frankfurt, all of whom are members of the top tier of the respective nations.

So, what does he have to offer? Let's start with a typical YouTube highlights reel of his time at Frankfurt.

Drool.

In terms of final ball, Piazon has scored 13 and assisted 13 in just over 60 games in Europe, according to transfermarkt. Not exactly eye-watering, but he has that creative spark and an excitement factor about him that should make Reading worth watching this season—even at home.

Clarke will be hoping his signing can propel the Royals into the upper echelons of the Championship, whilst the Brazilian will be trying to use this move as a springboard to the Premier League.

Speaking to the media recently, Steve Clarke said:

"I'm hoping that not too many people come and try and steal players from my squad.

"But if we can get one, maybe two in, before the window then great."

One down, one to go. All we need now is that elusive striker...

Reading FC fans, what do you make of the signing? Can he make the difference for us in the final third?
