Vince Lombardi once said "Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence." The performance on Friday night was probably a good reflection of this quote. However this is looking at it from the Reading side. It's a long way to travel on a Friday night back to Suffolk after a hammering such as this, so it should have given the Tractor Boys fans plenty of time to reflect on the game and tweet a few thoughts...

Had the strangest dream last night. I was at Reading and watched us lose 5-1. Oh wait a minute.... #itfc

Think everyone has had a moment like this!
In true form you should always be careful what you say on social media prior to the game!
I meanwhile am off home to prep for tomorrow while watching the mighty Ipswich DESTROY Reading #ITFC

With every defeat there are fingers pointed and a 5-1 thrashing generally gets the juices going in most fans - a selection of comments along these lines...
I am all for an attacking formation but playing no Goalkeeper has backfired tonight #ITFC

However the last word this week has to go to the Norwich fans, as Reading fans we really don't have that true rivalry with another team, so it's good too see the banter that exists especially from ex-players!
Ex Norwich players Darren Huckerby and Iwan Roberts enjoyed tonight #readingfc #itfc #ncfc pic.twitter.com/34WMiz1MNk

If anyone thinks we can't defend. Switch on channel 5 now to have a good laugh at Ipswich #ncfc #itfc

'you'll go up and just get smashed every game.' is definitely better than 'not going up and getting smashed by Reading.' #ncfc #itfc

Media
It's not a surprise that most of the headlines in the media are around two things: Sa's classy hat trick — the first in the Championship this season — and Norwoods stunning goal.
Starting this week with SkySports, as the game was on TV on the Friday we have a media section jam-packed with videos and highlight clips. Sky give us a good write up and a nice 5 min of highlights from the game. With a dedicated video for Norwoods stunner.
The BBC also do us justice (for once) calling our win "emphatic" and also have the stats from the game, which go someway to show that the stats don't always tell a true story of the game!
A rarity this week in getting column inches from the main Football League website, who call our victory a "comprehensive thumping".
Top marks to the Daily Mail this week who manage to get every pun in the book into their match report! This has to be one of my favourite reports of the weekend!
The Guardian also have a good write up and looking around the other reports from then game then Sporting Life carry a similar report to Sky, along with ESPN FC.
Clubcall carry a nice report from Clarke saying that we need to build momentum on this result and GetReading as always have a comprehensive round up.
As always make sure you check out The Tilehurst End for the latest in what's going on and I will be back on Wednesday with a round up from the Derby game.
