While rumours of Reading's first January transfer window signing continue, it appears the second striking departure is in motion as the Serie A outfit join Greek team AEK Athens in targeting Sa for a move.
As reported by TuttoMercatoWeb, La Dea are interested in the 27-year-old with Reading set to let the striker go once a replacement arrives. Since Brian McDermott's arrival in Berkshire, Sa has only started one game while appearing just the once from the bench with the former Slough boss preferring to deploy the likes or Rowan Liburd and Simon Cox as impact substitutes.
The likelihood of this rumour is growing, we know the Royals are considering selling or loaning out Sa and Atalanta are in need of reinforcements to turn around a run of four defeats in five winless games. Indeed, Edy Reja's side have found goals hard to come by with veteran striking duo German Denis and Mauricio Pinilla registering just three goals apiece for the 12th-placed side.
UPDATE: Indeed, Atalanta are set to sell striker Denis with clubs in America keen on the Argentine.
