FA Cup Ref-Watch: Huddersfield Town (H)

After Nahki Wells' late penalty earned Huddersfield a draw in the original tie, we're back at the Madjeski Stadium for the FA Cup third round replay. OLIVER LANGFORD will be the official in charge of the game.

After Jeremy Simpson was the man in the middle for the original tie in Yorkshire, Oliver Langford has been given the task of overseeing proceedings as Huddersfield Town visit the Madjeski Stadium for the second time this season in the third round replay.

So far in 2015-16, Langford has overseen 23 games, handing out 53 yellow cards and one red card as well as six penalties (including two in one game as Shrewsbury smashed Chesterfield 7-1 earlier this month). In the third round proper of the FA Cup, he was the referee for Nottingham Forest’s 1-0 victory over QPR.

It will be the West Midlands official’s second game involving Reading this season, as he took charge when the Royals visited Hull City in mid-December, losing 2-1 in front of the Sky cameras when Nick Blackman did this:

In total, Langford has been the whistle-blower in seven previous Reading fixtures (W4 L3). That includes our trip to Huddersfield in December 2013, when Terriers defender Joel Lynch was sent off and Nigel Adkins’ men won 1-0 courtesy of a Billy Sharp header.

The assistant referees for the replay will be Lloyd Wood and Rob Smith, whilst the fourth official will be Andy Davies.
