The Royals made hard work of it but emerged from their first game of 2016 with three points and a happy home crowd behind them as they beat Bristol City to make it 2 wins and 2 losses in Brian McDermott's second stint in charge of Reading.

McDermott made five changes, with the likes of Cooper and Sa returning to the starting XI in a 4-4-2 formation.

The game was scrappy, low on quality and goalmouth action but the victory was secured in added time as Vydra won the ball in his own half, played it in to Danny Williams who sent Blackman through on goal to slot into the far corner.
