Could history repeat itself? After all, Reading's trip to the semi-final last season began with a trip to the John Smith's Stadium, with a Nick Blackman goal setting the Royals on course towards a momentous afternoon at Wembley...
We'll have to find out after the replay.
A strong team named by Brian McDermott as he tried to get the team back on course as well as get past the sale of this season's top scorer. Three changes made to the team which faced Bristol City: Anton Ferdinand, Garath McCleary and Hal Robson-Kanu in for Paul McShane, Nick Blackman and Orlando Sa.
After a goalless first half, Jamie Paterson grabbed the first of the game around the hour mark, heading home from Jason Davidson's cross. But it wasn't to be enough, as Matej Vydra's luck finally turned with a shot that looped over the goalkeeper via a deflection.
The Royals had the better of the final twenty minutes and made that pressure count when Robson-Kanu finished off from Lucas Piazon's pass. But Nahki Wells would have the final say, converting a penalty after Harry Bunn was felled in the box.
We'll have a full recap on the website very soon but for now, make sure you keep Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th April free in your diaries, because we're on the charge again... And we'll have full details of the replay when we get them.
