Jordan Obita will miss The Royals' next couple of games, having felt a problem with his thigh after the Sheffield Wednesday victory.

Speaking after the 2-0 loss at Elland Road, Jaap Stam told the press:

After the Sheffield Wednesday game he felt something in his upper thigh.

He’s had a scan and there’s a little bit of damage. He will be out for two weeks.

The injury will see him miss the away tie with Blackburn Rovers and the home fixture with Norwich City. He should be in contention for the Fulham game on December 30.

Obita has had some competition for his left back spot this season, alternating with Tyler Blackett, who was signed from Manchester United in the summer.

Both have played in the same team recently, with Stam playing a 5-3-2 formation with Blackett at left centre back and Obita playing left wing back. That formation will likely have to be put on the shelf, with no other viable wing back solutions available to the Dutch manager — unless he plays Gunter or Watson out of position.
