Tonight's FA Cup Third Round draw has seen Reading pitted against current holders Manchester United - who Jaap Stam made 127 appearances for and won the competition with in 1999.
The Royals have only ever won once in 19 meetings with the Red Devils, and that came in the 1926-27 FA Cup. That was however one of only two campaigns in history when the club has reached the semi-finals. The last fixture between the teams was a 1-0 United win in March 2013.
Of course, Reading have reached at least the quarter-finals of the the FA Cup in four of the last seven seasons - more than any other team. Meanwhile, Manchester United have won the competition a record 12 times, reaching that tally thanks to a 2-1 extra time victory over Crystal Palace at Wembley last season.
The tie at Old Trafford will be played on the weekend of Saturday 7th January 2017, but with United being the holders and club legend Jaap Stam now in charge in Berkshire, there is relatively high chance that the game could be chosen for TV coverage.
