Saturday’s hammering to Fulham only went to hit home how Reading are dealing with a fair few injuries right now but thankfully at least one absentee seems to be nearing a return.
Get Reading have reported the latest quotes from Jaap Stam’s most recent news conference and the Reading gaffer has confirmed that Yann Kermorgant is closing in on a return. The former Leicester striker has been struggling with a knee injury but Stam has said he's back in training and looking good. Unfortunately not good enough to be in contention for the Sheffield Wednesday fixture but fingers crossed he’s back for the trip to Leeds the following Tuesday.
Sadly it's not such great news on another injured trio, with John Swift, Deniss Rakels all expected to be out until at least the start of 2017.
However, let's end on a positive note with the news that midfielder Sandro Wieser is indeed available for selection. Given the current lack of midfield options you’d have to think that if there's ever a chance for the Liechtenstein midfielder to make his mark, it's going to be now.
You can read more from Stam’s news conference in Get Reading.
Danny Williams is out of Saturday’s game with Wednesday due to suspension but Liam Moore returns from a one-match ban.
So happy Yann is coming back or are you hoping Dom Samuel continues?
